Vinaa is a native Mac app that keeps your AI conversations organized in one place.
Connect cloud models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google with your own API keys, or use local models through Ollama and LM Studio.
Organize chats into projects and folders, switch models mid-conversation, and return to months of work without digging through browser tabs.
Why another AI chat app?
Because the model changes. Your workspace shouldn’t.
Provider apps keep your work in separate silos. Vinaa puts the conversation first, so your chats, files, context, and tools stay together whichever model you use.
Why does a native Mac app matter?
Because your AI workspace should feel fast, familiar, and at home on your Mac.
Vinaa is built with SwiftUI and AppKit, with Rust where it makes sense. It is not Electron, Tauri, or a web view wearing a Mac costume.

What happens to my chats?
They stay on your Mac.
Vinaa stores your conversations locally. Optional sync uses your private iCloud account.
Keys are protected by macOS Keychain, and requests go directly to the provider you choose. Vinaa does not use your prompts, files, or responses to train AI models.
A private question should not become someone else's dataset.

Who’s behind Vinaa?
I'm Sujeevan, an independent Mac developer in New Zealand.
Vinaa means "questions" in Tamil, my language. I chose the name because every AI conversation begins with a question.
I also make FileMinutes, a native Mac app for finding files faster. Both apps share the same approach: practical, private, and carefully crafted for the Mac.
